Skeeter of Blackburn is quite a special dog.  He came to us from just about the worst possible of circumstances.  We found him in a pet store on August 10, 1998, when he was purported to be twelve weeks old.  He was nothing but skin and bones, but we could tell that there was something special behind his eyes.  As coordinators of Russell Rescue for the St. Louis area, we figured that we would nurse Skeeter back to health, and then adopt him out via rescue.  He burrowed himself into our hearts, though, so we were never able to give him up.  It's a good thing, too - Skeeter's quite a JRT.  He too has the hunting bug, and though he has yet to earn any hunting regalia, he's been in the field and is learning what to do.  Skeeter will probably always be known as a racing dog first and foremost, however.  Shortly after his first birthday - much to our surprise - Skeeter really turned on to racing.  Since his first birthday, he's formed one half of our one-two punch of 12 1/2-15" racing dogs - Dutch Creek Rick O'Shea of Blackburn being the other half.  Skeeter has won numerous racing ribbons & championships.  We haven't entirely decided yet if we are going to offer Skeeter at stud - but if we do decide to, an announcement will be made here.  In any event, if you are interested in using Skeeter to sire a litter, contact us and we can discuss it.
