Dutch Creek Rick O'Shea of Blackburn is the one who started it all.  Bonita Knickmeyer was the first Jack Russell person we met, back when we first found out about the breed in 1994.  The first Jack Russell we ever met in person was All Seasons B.D.L.W.D. of Dutch Creek, better known as Woody.  Bonita had just recently acquired Woody from Brenda Roberts (All Seasons Kennel), and Woody came bouncing down the road to greet us when we arrived.  We would later decide to purchase a pup from the first litter sired by Woody, from a cross with Bonita's Dutch Creek Classy.  We chose Ricky out of the litter of six at about 4 weeks, and picked him up at 8 weeks.  Jerry had many frequent flyer miles left over from a previous job, so early on, Ricky and Jerry traveled all over the East Coast, attending trials and getting to know people.  From a very early age, Ricky began to demonstrate his racing ability, winning many ribbons and championships before he was a year old.  As time has gone on, Ricky has developed quite a reputation throughout the Midwest (if not nationwide) as one of the fastest Jack Russells around.  And for the past few years, Ricky has competed quite fiercely with one of our other terriers, Skeeter of Blackburn.  While Ricky and Skeeter do not like each other and it has been difficult at times to race them against each other, when they do race each other they put forth their best possible effort and almost without fail finish 1st and 2nd.  Ricky has slowed down a bit over the years; he's now 7 years old, and he runs in the veterans racing class.  This does, however, give him the opportunity to meet up once again with a dog that he competed with numerous times as they were both growing up - Prestige Farms Oliver, owned by Steve Geroux & Jennifer Gilligan.
